The following describes the general workflow used to create a new print template.

1. Create a new DGNLib to store your print templates or open an existing one.
2. Create a new sheet model which will be set up to use as a print template.
3. Use Setup Sheet Template to define the sheet size, orientation, and print border.
4. Design the layout of the print template including the title block (manually designed), raster images for corporate logos, tables and a legend rectangle.
5. Create the necessary viewport blocks or shapes.
6. Add north arrows for each viewport.
7. Add text placeholders.
8. If needed, modify the print template components.
9. Set the print template properties.
